Built alongside an infants and junior play area the Scoot Park added a new dimension to the park enhancing the location no end. Existing car parking area was used as a temporary transfer area with materials being transported to site along the line of the new access path to be installed. Keeping to this line meant damage was minimised as the works were made good following final installation of the access path to reach the scoot park. The almost level area only required minimal build up prior to obstacle creation. The final access path was then installed to the same spec as the scoot park to attract users directly onto the area.

Site works arrangement: Formally an agricultural field with no formal drainage and on a slight slope. Main road access 150m from works location across wet grass land meant a temporary roadway had to be installed in order to access site with 8 wheel lorries. This reduced disturbance from the works as no reinstatement works were required.  Slope had to be corrected on the scoot park area in order to create a safe useable locations and allowing full speed control. This was levelled up by importing crushed hardcore material to create a stable base for the obstacles and features to be built from.

The Scoot Park was designed to sit within an existing MUGA location which was currently unused. The MUGA allowed for the Scoot Park to be built up from the existing ground. Firstly a perimeter was planned from the existing asphalt to allow for a neat finish of the final Scoot Park to meet the existing material. The obstacles were then built up using mot type 1 road stone, shaped and prepared ready for asphalt. Access was direct to site using the existing path ways. Machinery size was restricted by the existing perimeter fencing which stayed in situ throughout the works.
